About Membership

FFI members come from a wide variety of professional backgrounds, including finance, law, behavioral science, and management science. They are professionals, researchers, educators and family enterprise owners. Our nearly 2,000 members come from more than 80 countries and are actively involved in helping shape the organization and the field of family enterprise.
  • 65% of the members are family enterprise advisors and consultants; 30% are educators, researchers, and students; and 5% family enterprise members.
  • Members practices range from niche-oriented sole practitioners to small boutique consulting firms to major professional companies and related professional associations worldwide. Members serve families of wealth and family enterprises at all levels — from local entrepreneurs to international Fortune 500 companies.

More than 100 academic institutions worldwide have created family enterprise research and/or educational centers or specialized family business-oriented curriculum. Educators, researchers and directors of these centers are active participants in FFI.

Member Resources

Every October, in locations around the world, FFI presents the trademark event for family enterprise professionals. FFI members receive discounts to attend the conference. Plan to meet with and learn from colleagues as well as luminaries in the field. Visit to learn more and register.
